Convenor thanks

On behalf of the Organising Committee, ANZCA New Zealand National Committee, New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists, and the New Zealand Anaesthetic Technicians’ Society, I would like to thank you for your support of the Aotearoa NZ Anaesthesia ASM 2021.

While we were disappointed not to be able to host everyone in Christchurch, and showcase the changes in the city over recent years, we sincerely appreciate your attendance and ongoing support. Thank you for registering, for logging on, and for engaging with this conference.

Thank you to the healthcare industry sponsors for your continued support, particularly given the difficulties in engaging with our delegates in a virtual environment. In particular we would like to thank the NZATS program partner Medtronic, and our premium exhibitors Edwards Lifesciences, GE Healthcare and Karl Storz Endoscopy.

Thank you to our invited Australian speakers Drs Victoria Brazil and Bernhard Reidel, and our North American speakers Drs Carol Peden and Daniel Sessler. Obviously, we would have loved to have hosted you all in person, but your willingness to continue to contribute from afar is very much appreciated. Thank you also to our faculty of New Zealand speakers, we acknowledge the depth of expertise and knowledge in our local anaesthesia community.

Thank you also to the multiple Chairs and Moderators, for seamlessly transitioning to this virtual environment.

We wanted to explore our theme: Whakaora: To Heal | Our patients, Ourselves, Our city, Our planet, and we think we have achieved this, addressing each of these elements throughout the program.Ka kite ano au i a koutou – see you again, but hopefully next time in person.

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa
