Thank You for Attending

On behalf of the 2019 Organising Committee, we would like to thank you for attending the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting of the New Zealand Branch of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science.

The scientific programme this year was based primarily around our theme - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - and to this end we were delighted to welcome our International Keynote Speaker, Dr Gerard Criner, who made the journey to New Zealand from Philadelphia in the United States. We are extremely grateful to Gerard for sharing his knowledge and expertise.

We would also like to acknowledge Associate Prof Claude Farah and Karen Royals, our faculty of local guest speakers, and the session chairpersons for their contributions. Additional thanks to our trade industry partners who supported the meeting, and enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you.

We received several New Investigators' submissions for the 2019 ASM, and we would like to extend our congratulations to the winner of the 2019 New Investigators' Award, Dr Charlotte Chen. Special mention also to the second prize winner, Raewyn Scott. If you are considering entering the New Investigator's competition in the future, we would be delighted to receive your submission for the 2020 ASM.  Submissions are open to all members of TSANZ and ANZSRS, including nurse members.

The speaker presentations are now available to all 2019 ASM delegates - please click on the following dropbox link to access the presentations: TSANZ/ANZSRS NZ ASM 2019 - Speaker Presentations. Please note, the link is password protected, and a copy of the password has been emailed out to all delegates.

Finally, please save the date for next year's ASM, taking place in Rotorua from 23-25 September 2020. We are extremely excited about both the change in location, and the theme for the 2020 meeting: Aotearoa - Our Home, Our Lungs

We hope to see you there!

Warmest wishes,

Dr Stuart Jones (TSANZ Convenor)

Ewan Morris (ANZSRS Convenor)

Donna Thomson/Nikola Ncube (Nurse Convenors)

Dr William Good (Trainee Convenor)
