Prof Christine Glastonbury

University of California, San Francisco, USA

Dr Christine M Glastonbury, MBBS, is a Professor of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. 

Dr Glastonbury is a Neuroradiologist with a particular academic and clinical interest Head & Neck (HN) Imaging, and specifically HN cancer. She works closely with the Radiation Oncologists and Head and Neck surgeons on a weekly basis to optimize the care of HN cancer patients at UCSF. She has written and published multiple books, more than 130 articles and received multiple awards for scientific and education exhibits at scientific meetings. In 2024 she received the American Society of Neuroradiology award for Outstanding Contributions to Neuroradiology Education.

Dr Glastonbury completed her medical degree and Radiology training at the University of Adelaide and the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia before completing a fellowship at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. She then completed two years of Neuroradiology Fellowship and a year of Body Fellowship at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City before moving to San Francisco in 2001. 

At UCSF Dr Glastonbury is the Vice-Chair for Academic Affairs and the director of Mentoring in Radiology. She is the President-elect of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology and the Vice President of the American Roentgen Ray Society. 

In September 2024 she will be the President of ASHNR, and in April 2025 she will be the President-Elect of ARRS.


Assoc/Prof Wende Gibbs

Barrow Neurological Institute, Arizona, USA

Dr Wende Gibbs is an Associate Professor of Neuroradiology jand the Director of Spine Imaging and Intervention at Barrow Neurological Institute. She is dedicated to education of physicians in training and practice, as well as patients, through academic and organized medicine, with committee and leadership positions in multiple national and international medical societies. She is immediate past President of the American Society of Spine Radiology and Western Neuroradiological Society, and Chair of the ASNR Education Committee.  She recently joined the ACR Neuroradiology Commission as Chair of the Education Committee.

Dr Gibbs is also passionate about multidisciplinary cooperation and collaboration. She has leadership positions in NASS and is a frequently invited speaker at Neurosurgery and spine surgery meetings.  She has focused her research, service and education efforts on spine oncology, pain management, and radiology reporting.In addition to spine topics, her interests include Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative disorders, patient safety and communication, ethics, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
