Daniel M. Siegel, MD serves as  Clinical Professor of Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Brooklyn New York. 

A former President and honorary member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD),  he is  a graduate of Albany Medical College in New York, completed his residency in dermatology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas,  followed by a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Siegel also earned a Master of Science degree in Management and Policy from the W. Averell Harriman School for Management and Policy, SUNY  Stony Brook, and holds an Advanced Certificate in Labor/Management.

He serves or has served on boards of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS),  the American Dermatological Association, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, the International League of Dermatological Societies, IDEOM and the New York Dermatological Society among others.

Dr Siegel has published over 200 articles and book chapters in major medical journals and textbooks. He is a reviewer, editor, or advisor for many dermatology journals. His expertise extends outside of “routine” dermatology including IT and botany. He also has served the speciality since 1998 in the American Medical  Association Specialty Society RVS Update Committee (RUC) process, serving as the sitting member, alternate, advisor and alternate advisor.

Dr Siegel received the 2023 American Academy of Dermatology Gold Medal, the AAD’s highest award presented on a very selective basis to acknowledge outstanding and exceptional service in the field of dermatology, the  2013 American Skin Association Public Policy & Medical Education Award and the 2012 Clinical Educator Award from the 2012 Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference. Among Dr Siegel’s many other awards are the Academy of Dermatology Presidential Citation, which he received in 2000, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016 and 2017 and 2022. 

Dr Shyam B Verma is a private practitioner in Vadodara, India. He is a familiar name in international dermatology circles by the virtue of approximately 200 lectures around the world. He has about 130 scientific publications on clinical rarities, sociocultural dermatology, and the field of superficial dermatophytosis, especially against the backdrop of topical steroid abuse.

Dr. Verma has been on the board of directors of the ISD for the past ten years. He also has the distinction of being one of the two International Board Members of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He has been the Founding Editor of the Indian Dermatology Online Journal and has had several interesting assignments in IADVL, the national dermatology association.
