Dr Cindy Towns is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Otago Wellington. She is a Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Wellington Hospital.

Her research interests include Geriatrics, Internal Medicine and Clinical Ethics. She has a focus on patient rights and a special interest in the acute hepatic porphyrias. She serves on several medical and ethics advisory boards including the Australia Porphyria Ass, CESA and CHDI.
