Postponement Announcement

We thank you for your support of the TSANZ as we continue to navigate through difficult times. As you may have anticipated, we are regretfully postponing our NZ ASM that was set for September 2020 due to the rapidly changing and unpredictable COVID-19 situation. Whilst September is still months out, the NZ ASM Local Organising Committee felt it was in the best interests to postpone due to potential ongoing travel restrictions and most importantly given our members are on the frontline dealing with COVID-19, it is our duty to ensure you are able to respond to challenges we face as a community.

This decision was not made lightly as the ASM is essential for us as a Society to present our world leading science, enjoy great networking and camaraderie, and we are disappointed to say the least that it is not going ahead, however as you can appreciate it is the most sensible course of action. We would like to acknowledge the work done so far and offer thanks to all those involved in the organisation of the conference, our faculty of speakers, and our industry partners for their continued support.

Please remember to cancel or reschedule any arrangements you have made regarding travel and accommodation as soon as possible.

At this stage, the new date for our ASM is September 2021 at the same venue - Novotel Hotel, Rotorua, New Zealand. Further details will be confirmed closer to the event.

The meeting was also to include our Annual General Meeting which as per our constitution must be held during the calendar year. We are currently finalising the revised date for this and will advise members as soon as possible.

Thank you for your hard work and commitment to patients who will need you increasingly in the coming weeks. Please stay well, look after yourselves and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!

Best wishes to you all,

Dr Elaine Yap, NZ President TSANZ

on behalf of theTSANZ/ ANZSRS NZ ASM Organising Committee

What's New?

To support the continued growth and financial accessibility of the meeting for all attendees, a number of changes have been implemented for the 2020 NZ Branch Meeting - not least is a change in location, venue and dates.

We are excited to announce that the meeting will be taking place at the Novotel Lakeside in Rotorua, from 23-25 September.

What's the Same?

Attendees will still be offered registration packages which include accommodation, as well as options for twin share and additional two-night packages for scientists and physicians.

Earlybird registration will open 21 April 2020, at which time attendees can select their package - in the meantime, check the website regularly for updated information and details.

What's in Store for 2020?

We are planning an exciting and informative scientific programme, based primarily around our theme - Aotearoa - Our home, Our lungs.

Rotorua, the cultural epicentre of Aotearoa, will provide a fitting location for our theme,  aimed at providing an in-depth look into our own backyard in terms of medically and culturally relevant information and updates.

We look forward to sharing our meeting programme and speakers with you in the not-too distant future, and we very much hope to see you in Rotorua!
