Dr. Fleischer received his Bachelor of Arts and Medical degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then completed his dermatology residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He spent a quarter of a century on the faculty of the Wake Forest University of Medicine. He is now at the University of Cincinnati helping to train the next generation of leaders.

Dr. Fleischer is a general dermatologist with a broad range of clinical interests. He is a founding member of the International Forum for the Study of Itch. He has helped design and has participated in many clinical trials. He has published widely in health services research, comparative efficacy, and many other topics.
